The Flower Farm Wedding: Ron + Sandy

Just outside Sacramento is this gem of a wedding venue, The Flower Farm, aptly named as it was abloom with a working orchard and surrounding gardens. It was the perfect spot for this "farm to table" inspired wedding, complete with a custom menu featuring produce from the very same property. (Yeah, it was so good- that chef deserves a raise ;)

As for the bride and groom, I've known Ron Pileggi my entire life. I can't think of him without remembering his warmth, generous nature, excellent taste and enduring friendship with my parents. Needless to say, when Ron found Sandy we were over-the-moon to see him happily married again. Especially when there was so many fond friends and family present to celebrate together!

It was a party to remember, these photos are just a taste!

Ron and Sandy, thank you for the immense privilege of capturing your wedding. I feel like I just scraped the surface of your amazing relationship together, and seeing you loving on family and friends CONSTANTLY--> it was such a joy to be a part in this small way.

Much love to you both. Please come to Portland soon!

Portland Maternity Photo Session: Peter + Emily

It was just a little over a year ago that I photographed the beautiful wedding between these soon to be parents, Peter and Emily. (Go check out their wedding blog post!)
So it was such an honor to enter this new season and capture a few of these breathtaking moments as they anticipate the arrival of their little man

Ironically, this was the week of Portland Maternity Shoots- it was 3 Maternity photo shoots in 3 days! So fun, definitely got on a roll ;)

Portland Waterfront Engagement: Kristian and Noelle

The Portland Waterfront, specifically the Eastbank Esplanade, is a major attraction to photographers and engaged couples alike. No where else in the city can you get that gorgeous Portland skyline silhouetted in quite the same way. The challenge as a Portland engagement photographer is how to shoot at the same location multiple times and still have creative, unique images?

I think it's honest to say, every photographer has certain "fall back" ideas that always work well- which isn't a bad thing. But in order to keep it fresh, you have to keep trying something new. Add a new lighting technique or off-camera flash, or shoot film!

Which is what I opted to do in this case ;) Not a huge brainwave by any means as I shoot film any chance the weather permits. But this was the first time for some of these locations with a medium format film camera for an engagement shoot, so enjoy!

Kristian and Noelle, you guys are an absolute delight to work with. Your care for each other, was so beautiful to witness. Furthermore, you went out of your way to seek to care for me as well, I was truly touched by your thoughtfulness and it exemplified the type of character you both exhibit on a daily basis. It was an honor to capture this season for you both.
