First Presbyterian Tacoma Wedding: Josh + Rachel

First Presbyterian Church Tacoma Wedding

I love this family. LOVE THEM. Maybe it's the similar upbringing, (I feel right at home) maybe it's the love shared between the siblings, their great sense of style (you know who you are) or the purity and passion in their weddings. Whatever it is, this family is a gem- the real deal. It is always a particular honor to be invited into a family for the second time, I feel that trust and it makes me just want to fulfill every bit of that expectation.

With that said, it's a delight to share these photos. Josh and Rachel, you guys have a treasure in the "crowd of witnesses" that are rooting you on and behind you every step of the way. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the "crowd" for the  day :D

And Rach- I still think you look like Queen Elizabeth and you have the record for the best bridal entrance of my career. (for reals- I was crying, but so was everyone else)

First Presbyterian Church of Tacoma (Amy and Erin) thank you for hosting this lovely wedding, and for running us around that gorgeous church all day. Couldn't have done this glamorous fashion-forward wedding without you!

Thank you to Monica, my trusty assistant and second shooter.

First Presbyterian Tacoma Wedding: Sarah + Steve

First Presbyterian Tacoma is a historic edifice of romantic grandeur. Bride and Groom's have been making their wedding vows under the stain glass windows for decades and on this chilly Saturday in Janurary, Steve and Sarah joined the throng.

With only a brief 3 month engagement, many hands joined together to put on this classic Tacoma wedding. A plethora of friends and family gathered around as Sarah was escorted down the aisle by her beloved Grandfather. Light filtered softly from the windows high above as Steve and Sarah committed to love each other faithfully till death do us part.

As a Portland wedding photographer, I loved the opportunity of getting out of my hometown for fresh photographic inspiration in the urban environment of downtown Tacoma. After the wedding Steve and Sarah opted to finish their wedding portraits at the nearby Hotel Murano, and it was truly worth the extra effort.

Steve and Sarah, I couldn't stop smiling at your wedding, your bridal party, immediate family and dear relatives were warm, hilarious, and such a tribute to you both. Clearly you have an amazing heritage behind you. Many blessings on your new marriage, I am confident that it will stand the test of time :)

*Downtown Tacoma wedding photos in the evening light are both romantic and fashion forward. It's always fun to push the limits and use creative lighting options to tell a story and create unique wedding portraits.
